CGU Writing Center Consultant Positions

Writing Center Consultant Positions, AY 2015-16
The Writing Center is currently accepting applications for new Writing Consultants for the 2015-16 academic year.  Applicants should be current CGU students who are both excellent writers and personable in working with peers and with other Writing Center staff.  Applicants must be willing to work one-on-one with students, staff, and faculty on all aspects of the writing process, tutor students in our academic writing and speaking courses, provide feedback on student papers via email or online, and conduct workshops on specific topics relevant to writing in particular disciplines or across the curriculum.
Interested applicants should submit:
1.    A letter of application describing your interest in working at the Writing Center, the specific skills you bring to the position, your past experience with Writing Center and/or tutoring work, and how you think working at the Writing Center contributes to your broader academic trajectory at CGU.
2.    A curriculum vitae.
3.    A 5-6 page writing sample, preferably the opening section of a graduate-level paper demonstrating competence in your field’s style of writing and documentation.
4.    A letter of recommendation from a CGU faculty member, submitted separately.
All documents should be submitted in Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF format to Mark Pedretti, Director of the Writing Center, at Work-study status is preferred, but not a requirement. Please note if you are work-study in your application. Deadline for application submission is 5pm on Friday, April 10.
