Processing Archivist Postition at UC Berkeley

The University of California, Berkeley, is seeking a Processing Archivist whose primary responsibility will be to arrange and describe the records of the National Writing Project (NWP) housed in over 100 cartons. The records of NWP document the project's history from its impetus within the Graduate School of Education at UC Berkeley to its present day organization as a network of university-based sites offering professional development programs for educators. This is a fifty-percent temporary appointment for two years. The successful candidate will have experience with manuscript collection processing of organizational and/or personal papers and demonstrated understanding of archival description and materials.
Additionally, he/she will have experience in digital collection processing, experience with project management, familiarity with archival standards (EAD, METS, MARC, MODS), and strong communication skills.
