Music Student, Leslie La Barre, Receives Award for Composition
Composition doctoral student, Leslie La Barre, was awarded the 2014 American Composers Forum-Los Angeles Composition Competition: "Eureka! New California Song" for her work entitled, Steep Trails for contralto and piano. The work was performed for the competition by Claremont Graduate University faculty members Drs. Carol Lisek, contralto and Tatiana Thibodeaux, piano at Boston Court in Pasadena, CA on July 15, 2014.
In addition, on September 11, Drs. Lisek and Thibodeaux performed three works by La Barre: Steep Trails, Piano Sonata, and the world premiere of SOULS.
