An Evening with Afaa Michael Weaver

Please join us for An Evening with Afaa Micheal Weaver at the CMC Athenaeum.

Afaa Michael Weaver is a native of Baltimore, where he was a factory worker for fifteen years. His poetry book The Government of Nature was awarded Claremont Graduate University's 2014 Kinglsey Tufts Poetry Award; his chapbook A Hard Summation was published in summer 2015, and his latest book, City of Eternal Spring, has just been released. He has recieved two Pushcart Awards, the May Sarton Award, and the PDI Award in Playwriting from ETA Creative Arts Foundation, as well as fellowships from the NEA, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and the Pew Foundation. Afaa teaches at Simmons College and is a visiting faculty member at Drew University.

The poetry reading will be followed by a Q & A with the author and a book-signing.
