Poetry Reading with Afaa Michael Weaver

Please join us for a poetry reading by 2014 Kingsley Tufts Award winner Afaa Michael Weaver.

Afaa Michael Weaver  is a native of Baltimore, where he was a factory worker for fifteen years. The Government of Nature, winner of the 2014 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award from Claremont Graduate University, is his twelfth collection of poetry. His recent chapbook, A Hard Summation, came out in summer 2014 from Central Square Press. His latest book, City of Eternal Spring, is just out from University of Pittsburgh Press. He has received multiple Pushcart Awards, the May Sarton Award, fellowships from the NEA, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, the Pew Foundation, and a Fulbright appointment to Taiwan. As a translator, he works in Chinese. Afaa teaches at Simmons College, and is a visiting faculty member at Drew University.
